at weatherstation.org.uk,
have built and installed lightning detectors at Stowmarket
and Willingdon. Both sites participate in the blitzortung.org
data collection program uploading strike data to the central server.

The
detection stations use Blitzortung software and detectors.
Blitzortung utilises
Time Of Arrival (TOA) to verify strike integrity. The
data is uploaded to a central server which then checks data submitted
from other stations to verify the strike. Only verified strikes are
shown on the map.

Both Stowmarket and Willingdon locations
are now active and providing data to Blitzortung.
